GCYE, SEG, AeP, ALCC and SnooCODE Sign Strategic MoU to Accelerate Ghana’s E-Commerce Ecosystem

Jul 11, 2026

Young entrepreneurs in Ghana could soon benefit from stronger support for digital business growth following the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ghana Cooperative of Young Entrepreneurs (GCYE), Social Enterprise Ghana (SEG), the Association of E-Commerce Practitioners (AeP), the Association of Licensed Courier Companies (ALCC), and SnooCODE.

The partnership, supported by GIZ Ghana through the Pan-African E-Commerce Initiative (PeCI), seeks to strengthen Ghana’s e-commerce ecosystem by improving access to digital tools, logistics, training, and market opportunities for entrepreneurs.

The collaboration is expected to create a more enabling environment for Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly youth-led businesses looking to leverage digital commerce to expand their reach.

What the Partnership Means for Young Entrepreneurs

Through the new collaboration, young entrepreneurs are expected to benefit from:

  • Greater access to e-commerce platforms and digital payment systems.
  • Training and mentorship in digital business and e-commerce.
  • Improved logistics and digital addressing solutions to support online trade.
  • Opportunities to access regional markets through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
  • Stronger policy advocacy for youth-led businesses and entrepreneurs.

The initiative reflects a growing commitment by public, private, and development partners to equip Ghana’s youth with the resources needed to thrive in the digital economy.

Why This Matters

As more businesses move online, digital commerce is becoming one of the fastest-growing pathways for entrepreneurship and job creation. However, many young entrepreneurs continue to face challenges such as limited access to digital infrastructure, payment solutions, logistics services, and business support.

By bringing together organisations with expertise in entrepreneurship, e-commerce, logistics, digital addressing, and enterprise development, the partnership aims to reduce these barriers and create new opportunities for business growth.

For young people interested in starting or expanding an online business, this collaboration could open doors to new skills, stronger business networks, and access to larger local and regional markets.
