NEIP Opens Adwumawura Programme to Review, One Year On

Accra, 15 June 2026 — One year after it began, the time has come to take stock. The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) today opened a three-day workshop to review its flagship Adwumawura Programme, bringing together the very stakeholders who helped shape it to assess how far it has come.

Opening the workshop, NEIP Chief Executive Officer Eric Adjie welcomed the chance to put the programme under honest review. The purpose of the retreat, he explained, is to allow key stakeholders to sit together, go through the inputs and suggestions presented so far, and find ways to make the programme stronger in the years ahead.

The workshop drew a wide range of partners, including the Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs, the Ghana Youth Federation, Ghana Hubs Network, the private sector, academics from the Tertiary Hubs Network of Ghana (THING), the Venture Capital Trust Fund (VCTF), MASLOC, the Association of Ghana Startups and the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment.

Over the three days, the discussions will focus on the heart of the programme — training, grants disbursement, mentorship and coaching, as well as monitoring and evaluation. These are the areas that will shape how the programme runs in the coming years.

NEIP earned warm praise for its openness. The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs (GCYE) and the President of the Ghana Youth Federation (GYF) both commended NEIP for being transparent and willing to listen.

NEIP, they said, is a listening team. They have heard the advocacy of the GCYE and the GYF, and it is this same willingness to listen that brought the Adwumawura Programme together in the first place.

The message from Accra is clear. An institution that is ready to welcome feedback is one that is preparing to do better. The next three days will show just how far that spirit of openness will go.
