PHAIG Launches H4DS Youth Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Initiative to Drive Youth Innovation and Job Creation

Jul 23, 2026

The Public Health Alliance International Ghana (PHAIG) has officially launched the H4DS Youth Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Initiative, a new platform designed to equip young Ghanaians with the skills, opportunities, and partnerships needed to thrive as entrepreneurs, innovators, and future leaders.

The initiative was unveiled during the H4DS Youth Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Program, held on 22 July 2026 at the Accra Marriott Hotel, bringing together policymakers, development partners, business leaders, entrepreneurs, investors, and young people to explore practical solutions to youth unemployment and economic empowerment.

A New Chapter for Youth Empowerment

The H4DS Youth Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Initiative seeks to create an ecosystem where young people can access mentorship, entrepreneurial training, strategic partnerships, and opportunities that enable them to build sustainable businesses and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s economic growth.

Speaking at the launch, stakeholders emphasized the importance of investing in young people as drivers of innovation, public health, and national development, while highlighting entrepreneurship as a key pathway to creating jobs and improving livelihoods.

Building Partnerships for Greater Impact

The launch brought together representatives from government institutions, the private sector, development organizations, and international partners, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting youth-led development.

The launch brought together stakeholders from government, the private sector, development organisations, academia, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem to discuss practical approaches to youth empowerment, innovation, and job creation. The event also provided opportunities for networking, collaboration, and dialogue on strengthening support for young entrepreneurs.

Creating Opportunities Beyond Employment

Beyond promoting entrepreneurship, the H4DS initiative aims to equip young people with practical skills, leadership capacity, and innovative thinking needed to respond to today’s social and economic challenges.

By connecting youth with experienced mentors, business support systems, and strategic partnerships, the programme seeks to encourage innovation, expand access to opportunities, and support the growth of youth-led enterprises across Ghana.

Why This Matters

Youth unemployment remains one of Ghana’s pressing development challenges, making initiatives that combine entrepreneurship, mentorship, and cross-sector collaboration increasingly important.

The launch of the H4DS Youth Empowerment & Entrepreneurship Initiative represents a step toward creating long-term opportunities for young people by fostering innovation, supporting enterprise development, and encouraging partnerships that can drive sustainable economic growth.

As the initiative rolls out, it is expected to provide a platform for empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs and changemakers while contributing to national development.
