YEA Opens Multiple Opportunities for Ghanaian Youth — Here’s What You Can Apply For
The Youth Employment Agency’s official registration portal is currently offering several routes for young Ghanaians seeking skills training, employment and other work opportunities.
Young Ghanaians looking for employment, skills development or opportunities to enter the world of work can currently access several programmes through the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
The Agency’s official registration portal currently provides registration routes for YEA modules, skills training, private-sector jobs and work-abroad opportunities, alongside specialised programmes. Some programmes on the portal are marked as closed, so applicants are encouraged to check the status of each opportunity before registering.
The YEA was established under the Youth Employment Act, 2015 (Act 887) with a mandate to support young people through employment, skills training and internship opportunities. The Agency’s stated target group is young people between 15 and 35 years.
1. Skills Training
The YEA’s Skills Training Module is currently available for registration through the Agency’s portal.
The programme allows applicants to provide their personal and educational information, select a skill area and indicate whether they have a disability. Applicants are required to provide their Ghana Card information and upload copies of both sides of their Ghana Card during registration.
The portal also allows registered applicants to change their skill area and access or print their registration receipt.
YEA’s skills-training activities have previously covered a wide range of practical and digital areas, including coding and robotics, artificial intelligence, digital and social media marketing, drone operations, solar installation, CCTV installation, phone and laptop repairs, innovative agriculture and recycling.
Applicants should check the current skill-area options available on the registration form before making their selection.
2. Private-Sector Jobs
Young people looking for immediate employment can also register through the YEA’s Private Jobs platform.
The official private-job board currently shows seven available vacancies, including positions in administration, hospitality, information technology, customer service, security and manufacturing.
Current listings include roles such as:
- Tech Assistant (Intern) — Information Technology
- Executive Assistant — Hospitality
- Administrative Executive — Hospitality
- Customer Service Personnel — Education and Training
- Security Guards — Security
- Shoemaker (Sandals & Slippers Maker) — Manufacturing
- Direct Sales Representative — Retail/Commerce
The available vacancies vary in qualification requirements, with current listings ranging from BECE and WASSCE/SSCE to diploma and degree-level positions.
For example, the Tech Assistant internship currently listed in East Legon requires WASSCE/SSCE and is a part-time position. The Executive Assistant position requires a diploma, while the Administrative Executive role requires a degree.
The vacancies also have individual expiry dates, so applicants should review the full job description before applying.
3. Work Abroad Opportunities
The YEA also operates a Work Abroad Programme (WAP) designed to connect Ghanaian youth with international employment, internship and training opportunities.
According to YEA, the programme is intended to promote safe, regular and orderly labour migration while providing young people with information, guidance and support when pursuing opportunities abroad.
The programme also aims to help participating young people gain international exposure and employable skills while providing mechanisms for monitoring their welfare while abroad. YEA says beneficiaries can be registered with Ghanaian diplomatic missions and monitored through relevant government and virtual systems.
The YEA registration portal currently provides a route to the Work Abroad section.
Young people considering overseas employment should use official channels and carefully verify the employer, job, contract and migration requirements before travelling.
4. Business and Employment Assistance Programme
Another route available through the YEA portal is the Business and Employment Assistance Programme (BEAP).
The programme’s current portal shows separate registration options for job seekers and employers, as well as a job board.
The portal currently lists more than 3,900 available jobs under the programme and allows job seekers to register and apply for listed positions.
Job seekers registering through BEAP are required to provide information including their educational level, location, date of birth, Ghana Card details and employment-related information. The registration process also allows applicants to indicate whether they have a disability and upload their CV.
5. Artisanal Jobs and Other Specialised Programmes
The YEA portal also provides registration routes for specialised opportunities, including artisanal jobs, youth skills training and modern building technology.
The artisanal registration form asks applicants to provide their educational level, skill type, years of experience and other personal information. Applicants are also asked about driver’s licence status where applicable.
However, young people should pay attention to the status displayed next to each programme. Some specialised modules currently appearing on the YEA portal are marked “Closed”, meaning applicants should not assume that the presence of a programme on the website means applications are currently being accepted.
How to Apply
Young people interested in the available YEA opportunities should start from the Agency’s official registration portal.

From there, applicants can select the relevant programme, including:
- Skills Training
- General YEA Modules
- Private Jobs
- Work Abroad
- Business and Employment Assistance Programme
- Other specialised programmes where registration is currently available.
For private-sector jobs, applicants must first register as a private job seeker or upload their CV before applying for listed vacancies.
Important: YEA Does Not Charge Recruitment Fees
The YEA has stated on its official registration platforms that it does not request fees or payment at any stage of its recruitment process.
Young people should therefore be cautious of anyone asking for money in exchange for registration, recruitment or guaranteed placement.
A Chance to Explore More Than One Path
The range of options currently available through the YEA reflects several different routes into employment.
For some young people, that may mean gaining a practical skill. For others, it may mean applying directly for a private-sector vacancy, exploring an international employment opportunity or registering with a government-supported job platform.
Rather than assuming that one route will work for everyone, young people can review the available programmes and choose opportunities that match their skills, qualifications, experience and career goals.
Note: YEA programme availability can change, and individual vacancies have their own deadlines. Youth Hub recommends checking the official YEA portal immediately before applying.
