AMA Opens Applications for Youth Climate Action Fund Phase 2.0

Young people in Accra with practical ideas for tackling climate and environmental challenges now have an opportunity to access funding through the Youth Climate Action Fund Phase 2.0.

The Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA), in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies, has opened applications for youth-led projects aimed at addressing climate change and environmental challenges across the city.

What Is Being Offered?

Eligible youth groups, youth-led organisations and youth-serving organisations can apply for microgrants ranging from US$1,000 to US$5,000 to implement practical climate interventions within the Accra metropolis.

The initiative is designed to support young people aged 15 to 24 with financial and institutional support to develop and implement innovative, community-based climate projects.

What Kind of Projects Can Be Supported?

Applicants can propose projects that respond to climate and environmental challenges in their communities.

The AMA has highlighted areas including:
