National Youth Conference 2026 to Bring Young Ghanaians Together at KNUST
Thousands of young people from across Ghana are expected to gather at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) from 10 to 13 August 2026 for the National Youth Conference 2026, one of the flagship events of this year’s National Youth Festival.
Organised by the National Youth Authority (NYA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment, the conference will be held under the theme:
“Rebuilding Values, Inspiring Patriotism: Empowering the Youth in the Digital Age.”
A Platform for Dialogue and Action
The conference is expected to bring together young people, policymakers, government officials, development partners, entrepreneurs, academics, and youth-focused organisations to discuss issues affecting Ghana’s youth and explore practical solutions for national development.
According to the organisers, the event forms part of the broader National Youth Festival, an initiative aimed at celebrating, empowering, and mobilising young people while encouraging active participation in Ghana’s development.
Focus on Values, Innovation and Leadership
This year’s theme reflects a growing emphasis on rebuilding national values while preparing young people to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Discussions are expected to focus on youth leadership, innovation, digital transformation, entrepreneurship, civic responsibility, skills development, and opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s socio-economic progress.
National Leaders Expected
The conference promotional materials indicate that President John Dramani Mahama, Minister for Youth Development and Empowerment George Opare Addo, and National Youth Authority CEO Osman Abdulai Ayariga are expected to participate in the event.
Their participation is expected to provide an opportunity for direct engagement between government leaders and young people on issues relating to education, employment, entrepreneurship, digital innovation, and national development.
