World Bank Group Opens Applications for the WBG Pioneers Internship Programme 2026
The World Bank Group (WBG) has officially opened applications for the Fall/Winter 2026 cycle of its WBG Pioneers Programme, a paid internship designed to provide undergraduate and postgraduate students with hands-on experience in global development.
The programme offers students the opportunity to work on real World Bank Group projects while gaining professional experience alongside experts tackling some of the world’s most pressing development challenges. Applications for the current cycle are open from 13 July to 12 August 2026.
About the Programme
The WBG Pioneers Programme is the World Bank Group’s flagship internship programme for students seeking practical experience in international development.
Successful applicants will:

Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to applicants who meet the following criteria:
- Be a final-year undergraduate student, or be currently enrolled in a Master’s or PhD programme.
- Be a citizen of a World Bank Group member country, including Ghana.
- Demonstrate fluency in English.
- Have between 0 and 6 years of professional work experience.
- Show a strong commitment to the World Bank Group’s mission and core values.
